Game Launch - In Development
Here is my 5th GB Studio game and this time, I'm trying to make a point & click game.
I'm participating in the Fish Fest game jam too.
As always, the programming got the better of me. There was no way I could learn all the functionalities, do the art and game design within 9 days, but game jams are a good motivator for me to learn because the time limit forces me to work on something without taking my own sweet time.
The fishing mechanic was/is the hardest to nail. I still can't get it to run smoothly because of the animation. I'm using the launch projectile function in GBStudio. On its own, it works well, but I wanted to see the animation of the fishing line and the fish etc, it causes alot of bugs doing all that.
Also, there are so many objects in a point & click game, which means many, many sprites. I originally wanted to do a verbcoin cursor, but I had to scratch that because I ran out of sprites in a scene. I'll have to relook my sprite designs in the future.
Well, time has run out, so I'm submitting what I have just for the jam.
But I do intend to continue working on this game! So, keep watching this space! I've also made the game page a community page, so feel free to write feedback, give suggestions etc.
